The BCCI on Thursday said it has called Vidarbha wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma sanju samson Was ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against Sri Lanka on the advice of the board’s medical team.
Samson injured his left knee while trying to bowl near the boundary ropes during the first T20 International at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.
“The BCCI medical team took him to Mumbai this afternoon for scans and expert opinion and he has been advised rest and rehabilitation,” the apex cricket body said in a statement.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Jitesh Sharma as the replacement for Sanju Samson.”
Sharma was selected on the basis of his impressive performance for the Punjab Kings in the IPL.
The second T20 match between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Pune on Thursday.
The hosts are leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first match by two runs.
