NASCAR’s Rising Star Daniel Suárez Pops The Question To Girlfriend Julia Piquet
Coupled with his NASCAR Cup Series race schedule, preparing for the imminent toll of wedding bells means Daniel Suárez’s 2023 schedule just revved into high gear.
Having dated since 2019, Suarez popped the question to his girlfriend Julia Piquet during a
romantic vacation that included stops in Paris, Monaco and Morocco.
Suárez captioned the photo of him proposing on one knee to Piquet with “Full send!!!” The happy Twitter pic triggered a deluge of ecstatic responses from friends,
family and race colleagues, like none other than seven-time Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson who replied with, “Nice work amigo!”
Originally from Miami, Florida, the 30-year-old Piquet, who was featured on USA Network’s "Race for the Championship"
supporting her soon-to-be hubby is no stranger to the high-octane life of a racer as she’s the daughter of three-time Formula 1 champion Nelson Piquet.
“Everyone always asks me, ‘Do you get anxious or nervous,’ and I always say I do, but it’s not because I’m particularly worried of him getting hurt,”
Piquet revealed to USA Insider about her race-day thoughts while walking the red carpet at the premier of "Race for the Championship" earlier this year.
“It’s more because I know how much work, effort and discipline goes into his day-to-day preparation before he gets into a race car on Sunday.”
“There’s nothing better than to see him do well during the race, knowing how much work he’s put into that,” Piquet continued.
Set to enter his seventh Cup Series season, Suárez, who races the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro for TrackHouse Racing,
made history this past year in his 195th start when he took home the checkered flag at Sonoma Raceway in June,
becoming the first Mexican-born driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race.
